The Journey That Counts
Everywhere we stop, and even as we journey, we will highlight local sustainable efforts and challenge local populations and governments to move towards more sustainable ways of life for their communities.
We will help progress green initiatives that have already taken root.
We will actively show people that change is possible.
We will counter fear and inertia about ‘what to do’.
We will sow the seeds for new initiatives to take root.
Green for Go
As we march, we will create a viable manifesto for measurable change.
We will take the issues we encounter directly to local government officials, calling on them to recognize The Great Green March as a catalyst for change.
We will take our cause all the way to the corridors of power in Washington, D.C.
We will we request an audience with the President himself and seek his response to our urgency: to the specific political points that have arisen from the march, as well as to global issues such as climate change and the fuel and energy crises that affect us all.
By the time we reach Washington DC we will have come into contact with hundreds of thousands of people, directly and virtually. Our manifesto will have been built on the realities of people living in and around the locations we will visit across the nation.
We envisage incredible numbers of people marching alongside us into the city of Washington and onto the White House lawn.

“Promoting a way of living that supports economic, social and environmental well being through education and action.”.
